JULY 8 – 11.

On behalf of Asociación de Trombonistas Españoles and the Spanish Brass Luur Metalls, I would like to welcome you to the newest edition of the International Trombone Festival that will be celebrated for the first time in Spain in the wonderful city of Valencia.

I am sure that for those that are attending from Spain, it will be a unique opportunity to get to know great trombone players not only from Spain, but also from other parts of the world.This will be a good opportunity to make known the quality of the Spanish school of trombone playing and to position us in the front row of the international view of trombone playing. I’m sure everybody will appreciate that.

As being the host of ITF2015, I thought it would a good idea to found the Asociación de Trombonistas Españoles (ATE) to help with the organization of the Festival and to be a point of working together to make a high level Festival. I would like to thank publicly my travelling companions: Juan Bautista Abad, Rafael Polanco, Miguel Galdón, Gaspar Sanchis and specially Carlos Gil and Laura Gil. And as well I would like to thank my colleagues of Spanish Brass for their trust in me.

I must not forget to also thank Jon Bohls, Tom Plsek and the staff and board of the ITF and the ITA for their help and good advice.  I would also like to thank Abbie Conant for her suggestion of me as the host of this important event. We will count on the great quality facilities of the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo of Valencia, the Palau de la Música and the Palau de les Arts.

The Festival would not be possible without the collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), the Council of Valencia and the Berklee College of Music-Valencia. Thanks to all of you for your collaboration.
